Meet Daisy – approximately 8 months old – and facing an uncertain future in Ashton Pound, Dublin. Early last week, our founder; Ann, was made aware of her plight, and immediately offered to give her a rescue place. Even though our kennels are full and we had dogs to take from the local Louth County Pound, we couldn’t leave her behind.
Our team began to put the wheels in motion to secure a foster home for this little poppet .. and of course how to get her up to Dundalk …
And this is where volunteers play such an important role .. the wonderful Ferry Dogmothers placed an appeal for transport, and almost immediately, one of their regular supporters Gary, said he would help .. and almost as quick, the ever-reliable Paul agreed to foster the little munchkin ..
Gary made his way to Ashton Pound bright and early Saturday morning and popped little Daisy into his care and got her safely to Dundalk, right to Paul’s door .. and it was love at first sight ..
Daisy got a much-needed bath – washed away the stench of the Pound .. and then it was some grub and out for a lovely trek around the mountains – fresh air and freedom .. a fantastic first night and as you can see from the photos – she is just divine, and most importantly, happy and safe xxx
Thank you to Ferry Dogmothers, Gary, and of course Paul – you have each played a vital role in another pooch out and safe xxx watch this space for updates xxx
