Saturday was a great day for this special little guy .. Frankie has truly been through the wars .. he’s been in the care of DDR since early April after being found straying by the warden .. a young boy who eventually came into our care, but sadly with what appeared to be damage to his back leg ..
Upon initial examination, we were resigned to the fact that Frankie would most likely require surgery to repair the damage to his leg .. so we had to put in place the search for a foster home that would offer crate-rest care ..
However, upon further consultation this week, John of Avenue Road Vets is happy to leave the leg to see how it goes. At the moment it seems to be recovering and not enough wrong to warrant surgery at this time.
So we are thrilled to advise that Frankie left kennels on Saturday and has joined Karen, a very experienced dog-owner, for some much-needed TLC and exercise .. it is crucial that Frankie builds up muscle tone on his back leg .. and in foster, this is easier to achieve – plus Karen can monitor his progress ..
And as you can see, he has settled in perfectly .. so we are hopeful Frankie will do all the work himself and not need any surgery and we will work hard to find him his happy-ever-after xxx
