Sweet little Poppy arrived into the care of DDR on 1st June having been found as a stray by the warden. After spending a couple weeks in kennels, Poppy’s luck changed on 17th June, when our volunteer Laura took her into foster. Around the same time, Aine had reached out enquiring about finding a pooch to join their family.
A home check was carried out and Poppy’s name was suggested as a suitable fit .. so arrangements were made with Laura and Aine was invited to come along to our Dog Walk on 25th June. Laura came along with Poppy and the meeting was a success. So much so, Poppy headed off home to begin her trial homing ..
And it has been a success … Poppy has settled in immensely .. has spent most of her first summer holidays with the family camping in Clogherhead … and is already a celebrity there .. every single child on the site stops to pet her and Poppy laps it all up .. described by her family as a “gem” …
Thank you so much to Laura for facilitating the meet and greet. And huge Thank You to Aine and her family for considering a rescue dog and giving Poppy the very best of starts to this dream life she has ahead xxx we look forward to many happy updates in the future xx
