Dogs in our care – 25th May 2017

Introducing the dogs in our care this week. Each photo will have the name and description of the dog and if they are booked for rescue or looking for a home.

We also have a huge number of dogs out in foster at the moment – thanks to all our wonderful foster homes – we are so grateful to you all for the incredible work you are doing xxx

And of course our superb Saturday Morning Walking Crew – you put the wag into the tails of each rescue dog xxx

It’s been incredibly busy behind the scenes this week as we had 2 rescue transports take place .. on Wednesday we said farewell to a selection of our dogs as they made their way to their forever homes in Sweden courtesy of our colleagues in Hundar Utan Hem.

This evening we also had a small number of our dogs head off to the UK to begin their new lives courtesy of our colleagues in Heathlands Animal Sanctuary.

We have taken in a return pooch who sadly didn’t work out on trial homing, a private surrender who has gone straight into foster care, and of course the pooches who’s time are up in the Pound. So exceptionally busy behind the scenes. We have had lots of our dogs booked into the vets for surgeries and treatments and vaccinations .. and most importantly, we’ve had another successful local rehome (details to follow) …

So as always we keep the request for your support, particularly financially, to help us continue this work, and importantly, in our quest to build our Rescue Center … we cannot do what we do without you ..

Huge thanks to our colleagues in the Rescues in UK and Sweden, and Italy, who help out with so many of our dogs. A few of our volunteers went to the UK last weekend to Heathlands annual Dog Fete and they had the pleasure of catching up with some pooches who had passed through DDR’s care over the years .. more photos and details to follow ..
