A week before Christmas, and we are completely swamped with dogs. This week we will see quite a lot of long-termers leave our kennels to spend the first of their many Christmas’ in a warm, loving, home … but sadly, no sooner do they leave our care, than another pooch will take their place .. and these new dogs will sadly spend Christmas in our boarding kennels unless we can secure foster homes for them.
Thanks in advance to our Saturday morning walking crew who will ensure each of these dogs, whom they’ve become fond of, will receive lots of walkies & cuddles – particularly those whom they’ll be walking for the last time xxx
We have 74 dogs as of today on our books .. 5 dogs left this morning to make their way to their forever homes in Sweden – we wish them a very safe journey .. thank you to our colleagues in Hundar Utan Hem xxx
Saturday sees a lot of our dogs in kennels, plus a few of the dogs who have been in long-term foster, make their way to their forever homes through the support of our rescue friends in Heathlands Animal Sanctuary. This has all been made possible through the hard work of our back office team – paperwork, passports, travel logistics – teamwork! All done outside of their “paid” full time jobs, family life, etc – no day off in Dog Rescue. And of course you, our supporters, for providing the financial support to make all this possible.
Here are a selection of our dogs (thanks to Ann for the photos) – we will have an update again early next week once all the changes happen this weekend. Â Thank you to our various foster carers – Julia and Elena, Laura, Maja, Saorla, Karen, Janet, Mary, Katy & Ken, Maxine, Fiona – you are all angels making a difference to our more vulnerable pooches xxx
Please please please – if you are considering a pet for Christmas – please visit your local shelter/pound – plenty of beautiful pooches just waiting there for you – #adoptdontshop #rescuedog #dontbuyloverescueit
