Cody – happy paws !

Posted on Posted in Our Dogs

Better late than never .. although never too late to share a happy ending …

Cody (was Kobi) arrived into the care of DDR in mid-April. He had been a stray to the Louth County Pound, and as an older dog, didn’t stand any chance of being rehomed directly. So again, DDR stepped up and took this older guy into our care.

And this is where Cody’s luck changed – for the better – as he caught the eyes of one of our volunteer’s Marcel .. and she was smitten ! Cody headed off to foster on the 15th April – and he has never looked back ..

He has settled in perfectly with his new family – the kids absolutely adore him – and nobody seems to even realise that Cody is 10.5 years young and completely deaf !!! Cody has waited all his life for this wonderful family .. he is completely loved, has little humans who adore him .. he is quite simply the centre of their lives .. and that is no more than we all could have wished for ..

Marcel and her family have been wonderful supporters of DDR over the past few years .. and Marcel herself is now one of our regular dog walking volunteers AND a foster failure – the best sort of failure there can be …

So on behalf of everyone here at DDR – THANK YOU so much guys for giving Cody the most precious gift of all – a place to call home xxx
